Beautiful Septarian Palm Stone 209g Lovely color, with some sparkle to it, nice oval shape. Very lovely piece would make a great addition to any collection. Has a nice weight to it and feels wonderful in the hands. You will receive the same stone as pictured.
Gem Info and Lore:
Septarian formed during the Cretaceous Period, around 50 to 70 million years ago. It is unique because the stone is a result of volcanic eruptions that attracted dead sea life, chemically bonding them to the sediment and forming mud balls. They are composed of Calcite, Aragonite and limestone. . The word septarian comes from the Latin word "septum," meaning "partition." Septarian nodules contain angular cavities as a result of cracking, which are called septaria and create divisions throughout the stone. These unique septaria can be any length and each septarian can have many different cracks. The mudball that’s formed on the seabed splits into seven different points and radiates in all directions. You get the contrasting and distinctive dragon skin pattern as a result.
Septarian has a great and diverse effect on the life of anyone who uses it.
